Corporate biography
Chameleon Speciality Chemicals was established in 2007 and in 2008 received EIA
environmental approval and business licence to establish a colorformer production
plant in Lianyungang on China's east coast. The plant construction was completed
in late 2009 and production started in 2010.
The company has been founded and managed by a team with extensive experience of the
colorformer business. Chameleon Speciality Chemicals is a highly focused, independent
supplier of colorformers which has been designed to create the most competitive set up
for colorformer manufacture in the world, incorporating:
- Industry leading knowledge of plant design, production processes and techniques,
with a strong focus on safety and the environment.
- Backward integration for key raw materials.
- Plant located on China's east coast to allow ease of import/export, good access
to skilled labour and favourable taxation incentives.
- Low overheads compared to larger multinational competitors.
- Joint investment with an equipment manufacturer to reduce plant investment costs.
Our goal is to provide a reliable, high quality, competitively priced, long term
supply of imaging chemicals to the carbonless and thermal paper industries. Over
time we will gain the confidence and approval of our customers and thereby establish
prime supplier status.
Recent milestones
Mar-2010 - First sales order received and material dispatched.
Feb-2010 –Production commissioning completed and first customer samples sent.
Dec-2010 – Plant construction complete and production commissioning started.
Oct-2009 - Final approval received from the Electricity Bureau and mains power switched on at the site.
Jul-2009 - Installation of the first production vessels.
Apr-2009 - Sign sales agency agreement with Bauhinia for key Asian countries.
Dec-2008 - Site construction started.
Nov-2008 - Completion of REACH product pre-registration.
Nov-2008 - Site purchase at Lianyungang, China completed.
Sep-2008 - Business licence issued in China.
Jul-2008 - EPA approval obtained for plant at Lianyungang, China.
